Enjoyed every day by hundreds of walkers and joggers, Te Mata Park has an extensive network of well-formed tracks that provide varied landscapes, views and gradients. Choose from one of the Top 5 Walking Tracks which provide a variety of options to explore some spectacular areas of the Park on foot. Piwakawaka Loop 1.3km / Est 40 mins Big Redwoods Track 2.7km / Est 1 hour Karaka Wander 4.0km / Est 1 hr 15 mins Rongokako Trail 5.5km / Est 2 hrs 15 mins Giant Circuit 5.4km / Est 2 hrs 15 mins Dogs are very welcome in the Park and it is an off-lead area. We ask that owners always have a lead with them as there are areas of the Park where sheep are grazed and dogs must be controlled around stock. We also ask that you pick up your dogs deposits, so please have poo bags at the ready.

Amazing walking tracks! We did the blue one, 2 hour return. Amazing walk and amazjng views along the way. It is really not that hard. Would recommend!

We followed the red track anti-clockwise, which was absolutely beautiful. Stunning views and lots of fossilized sea shells on the top!



Belle petite randonnée bien balisée pour 2h de balade tranquillement en suivant le circuit Rouge pour admirer tous les points de vue les plus intéressants. (Nice little marked hike for 2h of walk quietly following the Red circuit to admire all the most interesting points of view.)
