Description

Freedom camping permitted in Kowhai Park beside the Whanganui River. Camping in all vehicles allowed(maximum of 10 vehicles), and a maximum of 3 tents. You may stay a maximum of four (4) nights per 4 weeks. See photo. Designated Freedom Camping area is between the Anzac Parade Toilets and the boat ramp. Freedom Camping is prohibited in Kowhai Park outside of this area. Facilities include toilets, drinking water and a dump point. Take all rubbish with you and leave no trace.
