Description

This is a basic five-bunk hut in the Mackenzie Country and Waitaki area. There are no fees. Bookings not required - first come, first served. Facilities include mattresses, non-flush toilets and water from a stream. Snowy Gorge Hut is 5 hours (11 km) from Birchwood Road. Tracks to the hut: Snowy Gorge Creek - Maitland Stream.
